“ I went to Bubba's in Des Moines cause I seen the picture of the deviled eggs. Omg! Delicious! For my entree I ordered the fried catfish. Never had catfish before, they have the best cooks! Loved the southern menu. My server was absolutely amazing. Service was top tier! Ridiculously good food for a very reasonable price. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. ”
“ I had an excellent experience here with my wife and friend. Their service is especially top-notch. Big kudos to Mercedes, who took care of us that evening. The decor and atmosphere were pleasant and welcoming with a modern Southern flare. The starters we tried, biscuits and pimento mac and cheese, were delicious and came quickly to the table. The jambalaya gets a huge recommendation. The portions were generous, and the taste was delectable for all the dishes. We sadly did not get to try dessert as we got too full. Next time, for sure! ”
“ I had been looking forward to dinner at Bubba ever since my wife told me she had gotten reservations for a weekend getaway in Des Moines - it did not disappoint! Everything about Bubba was highly appealing. The space is very clean and fresh. Our service from our server Mercedes was impeccable. She checked in on us often, gave great recommendations on food/drinks, was personable, and updated on the status of our orders multiple times. The food itself was incredible. We started off with fried green tomatoes and frog legs. The tomatoes were thick and flavorful and the remoulade was excellent. The frog legs were tender and juicy and the accompanying aioli was great. Just be warned there are lots of small bones - they're a little more difficult to eat than a chicken wing. I ordered the country fried steak and my wife ordered the shrimp and grits. Both dishes had generous portions and were very flavorful. The mashed potatoes and bacon green beans that came with my dish were excellent, as well. Bubba has a deep menu with several appealing options, plus a very good looking brunch menu. If we return, I'll be eager to try another dish (even though our food was excellent). ”

“ First time at Bubba for my best friend’s 24th birthday, and I had a blast! Our reservation was at 8pm, so we sat at the bar until we were seated. They were very quick with getting our table set for our party of 7. My first impression was that the restaurant was very nice and well decorated. Our server was Mercedes & I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER!!! She was very friendly, attentive, and patient with our friend group. She provided excellent service. Appetizers: Deviled Eggs, Fried Green Tomatoes. — I liked the fried green tomatoes more! I thought it was plated very well & the sauce it came with was delicious What we ordered: — grilled salmon salad x2 — New York strip — buttermilk fried chicken, 2 piece white that comes w/ pickles, mashed potatoes, and 1 side of choice — chicken & waffles — caramel apple crumble pie (not pictured but inhaled) — plus a few other items not pictured & some drinks Everything was delicious & the portions were so large! For everything, our total was 233 before tip and after taxes. I definitely thought it was worth it and would come back again. ”
“ It was so nice! When I entered the restaurant the waiters were very welcoming and nice. As we sat down to take orders, the waiters were very understanding and had our food quickly. The fried green tomatoes were very good. For my meal, I got Mac and cheese with fries. The Mac and cheese was very cheesy and creamy while the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Overall, this was a very good restaurant and would recommend to come here again. ”

Amber took care of us at a high top by the window - The Deviled Eggs were fantastic - the Grilled Salmon Salad was superb (great apple cider vinaigrette dressing) and the Warm Street Corn Dip was Incredible!
